Building a Place for History
Beth Miller has been the Curator of Thomas Edison’s home, Glenmont, for the past eighteen years and has worked for the National Park Service for twenty five years. Beth has lectured on the topic of “Historic Housekeeping” for many organizations and, most notably, has been a guest speaker for the topic at the annual conference of the Small Museum Association and also for the New Jersey Historic Trust’s Collections Care Workshop of 2012. For the past ten years, Beth has been a guest professor for the Seton Hall Museum Professions program Object Care class. She received her undergraduate degree in Studio Art and Art History from Montclair State University in 1991 and her graduate degree from the Seton Hall University Museum Professions program in 1998. She has also completed a certificate program at Drew University for Historic Preservation. Beth is an alumni and scholarship recipient for the Victorian Society in America’s Newport Summer School and their London Summer School.
