Building a Place for History
Christopher N. Matthews is a professor of anthropology at Montclair State University. He has a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University (1998). His research interests include the archaeology of capitalism, race, heritage, and community-based research. He is the author of two books, An Archaeology of History and Tradition and The Archaeology of American Capitalism. He is also the current editor of the journal, Historical Archaeology, and co-director of the ‘A Long Time Coming’ project in Setauket, NY and the ‘Reverse Archaeology of I-280 Project in Orange, NJ.
