Building a Place for History
Abby Klionsky is a public history practitioner who has worked in a variety of positions at the cross-section of material culture, history education, and archives. At Princeton, she’s working to implement a public history initiative aimed at diversifying the art and iconography of the campus by telling some of the lesser-known stories and “hidden histories” of the university. That initiative includes building a series of themed historical tours and incorporating those stories into the overall student and visitor experience of the campus. Abby comes to Princeton most recently from Chicago, where she worked on digital humanities initiatives, and prior to that spent two years living in Mississippi working with schools across the American South.
