Building a Place for History
Lauren Schiszik is a historic preservation planner for the Department of Planning in Baltimore City, where her work supports the city’s historic built environment, landscapes, archaeological sites, and, most importantly, its citizens. In a previous position, she was part of a team that developed a preservation-sensitive climate resiliency plan for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Lauren is also an adjunct faculty member in Goucher College’s Historic Preservation graduate program and has previously taught at other local universities. She holds a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland, College Park and a BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Earlham College.
