Linda Shockley

Linda Shockley has been president of the Lawnside Historical Society since 1994 and was among charter members who formed the Society in 1990 when the Peter Mott House, a stop on the Underground Railroad, was threatened with demolition. The Historical Society has conducted tours of the Peter Mott House which was restored and houses an Underground Railroad Museum. The borough of Lawnside is the only incorporated historically African American municipality in New Jersey.
