Patrice Bassett completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rutgers University in Camden. She has worked for the City of Camden for 17 years and currently serves as the City Records Manager, Archivist, and Acting Deputy Registrar. With the Clerk, Luis Pastoriza, Patrice has helped to preserve and digitize hundreds of thousands of pages of historic City text. Patrice has designed and implemented several historic displays and led youth focused historic education programming. In 2017, she garnered eligibility from both the New Jersey Register and National Register of Historic Places for Camden City Hall. In 2018, she conceived a project to introduce a standalone historic education kiosk in City Hall. The project has morphed since it’s embryonic stages into the 3-screen flat panel interactive history mural we have installed today. Patrice has worked over the years in collaboration with Camden County Historic Society, Heritage Consulting Inc., and Night Kitchen Interactive to bring this vision alive.
