Building a Place for History
Rick Lear is Director of the Middlesex County Office of Parks and Recreation. He is responsible for the management of over 11,000 acres of Middlesex County Park System including 18 parks and recreation facilities and 8,000 acres of conservation areas and preserves that include over 30 miles of marked and maintained trails. The Office of Parks and Recreation is also home to the award-winning Plays-in-the-Park program that has brought Broadway-caliber musical theater to Middlesex County for 56 years. Rick has a BS in Natural Resources – Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Oregon State University and worked as a naturalist for the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association.
