    Absecon Lighthouse

Climb New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse built in 1854. The Absecon Lighthouse is now owned by the Inlet Public/Private Association (IPPA), which purchased the property in 1996, and works to preserve, interpret, and operate the landmark. Exhibits in the Keeper’s House provide access to rare historical photographs and offer an overview of the history of Absecon Lighthouse, including ocean life, shipwrecks, keepers, and local memorabilia. For a small fee, visitors can climb to the watch room and external gallery.

While you’re in the area: Stretch your legs on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, officially open on June 26, 1870, it is the first boardwalk in the United States and the longest in the world at 5.5 miles!
