Historic Cold Spring Village is New Jersey’s largest open-air museum, with 27 buildings recreating life in the 1800s, the “age of homespun.” Take a stroll along 30 acres of shaded lanes, enjoy the gardens, and visit the farm where heritage crops are grown; visit twenty-seven restored historic buildings which house a blacksmith shop, print shop, woodshop, and other trades. Historically clothed interpreters educate and entertain visitors about the lifestyles, issues, trades, and crafts of yesteryear. Children enjoy playing in the activity area where they participate in hands-on crafts and playing games. Visitors also enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides on weekdays.
While you’re in the area: Stop into the Cold Spring Brewery, New Jersey first non-profit brewery featuring local brews. Each purchase held to stabilize Historic Cold Spring Village for future generations to enjoy. Cheers!
