About this Session

Presenters: Annabelle Radcliffe-Trenner, Michiel Brouns, Peter Galloway, potentially a representative from Dell Tech to assist with tools and hand on portion

Location: Museum of Early Craft and Trades Workshop space (pending discussions with Annabelle and Deborah Farrar Starker, ED of museum)

This is a hands-on, technical workshop that expands upon some the information this group presented at last year's conference on linseed oil paint use and application. The workshop will tentatively be from 1 pm-5 pm with a max capacity of 40 people. The workshop will begin with a brief presentation of linseed oil paints then the participants will break out into 4 working groups to practice preparation and application. The 4 working groups includes plaster application, window application, the painting process, and removal/stripping (weather dependent since it may need to be done outside). The overall takeaway from the workshop is to understand how to paint windows and clapboards with linseed oil paints including how it plays a role in the reglazing of a sash.
