No Room for Error, Weaving Modern Systems into Historic Buildings
About this Session
Historic buildings remain useful or become obsolete. This often requires replacement of building systems, ADA upgrades, and energy measures. Aimed at architects, planners, HP Commissions, and building owners, this session will show how historic buildings can receive those upgrades while maintaining their character defining features. The presenters, Mark Thaler, AIA and David Howell, AIA, each have over forty years of experience bringing new life to historic buildings, Mr. Thaler as a preservation architect, and Mr. Howell as a project manager and program manager at Princeton University. The session will provide numerous examples of practical solutions that resulted in award-winning work.
