Canal Society of New Jersey
The Canal Society of New Jersey is a non-profit organization formed in 1969 to promote interest in New Jersey’s two historic towpath canals, to advocate for the preservation of canal remains and artifacts, and to study their history. The Society also seeks to promote public education and open space recreation by working with communities across New Jersey to create a state-wide Morris Canal Greenway corridor. We also partner with New Jersey State Parks to help promote and main the D&R State Park.
