Michael Wierzbicki is a Senior Project Officer within the Historic Preservation Department at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA).  Since joining the NJEDA in 2021, he has been involved in the development and implementation of the Historic Property Reinvestment Program (HPRP).  In his current position, he is tasked with review of HPRP applications and providing technical assistance with regards to requirements associated with construction management, construction cost estimates, and project schedules.  Michael has over 22 years of experience in the field of construction management.  Prior to joining the NJEDA, he worked in the private sector for a general contracting and engineering company where he served in numerous roles including Assistant Manager of Procurement, Project Manager, and Junior Estimator.

Participants will learn about NJ’s historic tax credit program and how it has evolved since its inception in 2022. The session will provide a general overview of what the Program is today and will focus on the behind-the-scenes assessment of the Program’s effectiveness, including how the data collected and feedback received was used in legislative and regulatory improvements made. The session will also include updates on some of the Program’s approved projects, and how we expect their completion will affect the Program and economic development at the local and state levels.
