I am the founder and President of Hometown History NJ, a 501c3 non-profit that produces narrative audio documentaries about relevant New Jersey history.
Our team is dedicated to uncovering and sharing under told stories from New Jersey's hometowns, bringing the past to life for our listeners. We are passionate about preserving and celebrating the rich history of New Jersey, and we strive to make it accessible to everyone through engaging storytelling and in-depth research.
Katie Feather is an independent podcast producer with over a decade of experience making audio stories for public radio shows and podcasts. She has served as an adjunct professor of audio journalism at New York University and Wagner College, where she taught an introductory course on storytelling, reporting, and production.
Katie has moderated panels at major national and academic conferences, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting in Washington, DC, and ComSciCon in Ithaca, New York. She has also been a guest lecturer at Columbia University and Rutgers University, engaging students on topics spanning audio storytelling, journalism, and effective communication of complex ideas.
As the co-founder of the New Jersey non-profit Hometown History NJ, her work bridges academia, media, and community-focused education, with a focus on making New Jersey history accessible, engaging, and meaningful beyond traditional institutions.
