This presentation highlights the award-winning rehabilitation of historic dams and structures in Princeton’s 78-acre Mountain Lakes Preserve, shaped by 19th- and early-20th-century ice harvesting. It covers site history, regulatory challenges, and integrated engineering and preservation solutions used to restore dams, spillways, walls, and stone features. The talk also introduces an ongoing stone arch bridge rehabilitation supported in part by a New Jersey Historic Trust grant, offering insight into preserving historic infrastructure within protected natural settings.
