Kate Marcopul
NJ Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer and the Manager of the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office (NJHPO)
Kate Marcopul is currently the NJ Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer and the Manager of the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office (NJHPO) where she oversees the programs of the NJHPO. The NJHPO administers the federal and state historic preservation program in New Jersey including review and compliance under state and federal law, the NJ and National Register program, the federal historic rehabilitation tax credit program, the Certified Local Government program, and the historic property survey and inventory programs Dr. Marcopul holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Anthropology from Temple University, a B.A. in Anthropology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and is a Certified Public Manager. She is also currently a member of the board of the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers, represents the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection an ex-officio board member of the NJ Historic Trust, and is ex-officio member of the NJ Historical Commission.
