Anne Motto
F.M. Kirby Curator of Collections, Morris County Historical Society (MCHS)
Anne Motto is F.M. Kirby Curator of Collections at Morris County Historical Society (MCHS) and serves as one of two senior staff in the organization. She joined MCHS in 2019 and as a result of her achievements was awarded an F.M. Kirby Curatorship in 2024. In her role, Ms. Motto successfully secured nearly $450,000 in funding for the interior restoration of Acorn Hall, oversaw the conservation of a nationally significant 19th-century stained-glass memorial window, and dramatically improved the documentation and organization of MCHS’s extensive collections and archives. Since 2021, she has spearheaded and managed a weekly blog and social media series that has brought new interest, awareness, and recognition to MCHS, its mission, and expanding collections. Ms. Motto holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan. Noted for her research and exhibits, she has worked as both a curator and educator in local museums for nearly 20 years.
