Peter Viteretto, Principal, PLA, FASLA, leads the Heritage Landscapes LLC office in Norwalk, Connecticut, where he has been directly involved in award-winning national and international landscape rehabilitation and preservation projects. He has been engaged with Morris County Park Commission throughout the four-phased restoration of Martha Brookes Hucheson's landscape since 2001, including the current Gardens and Orchard Landscapes restoration work. Mr. Viterettos' planning, design, and implementation work includes finding authentic and sustainable solutions to uplift and renew valued cultural public landscapes, bringing them forward for contemporary use. Heritage Landscapes LLC has been involved in landscape renewal projects on over 300 historic landscapes where Mr. Viteretto crafts processes that integrate compatible new design within historic settings that renew and strengthen historic character in the landscapes such as, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Maze & Theater Garden rehabilitation, Miami FL, US Botanical Garden/National Garden, Access Improvements, Washington DC, Second Bank & Rose Garden Landscape Rehabilitation, Independence National Historical Park, Philadelphia, PA and Planting Fields Arboretum, Oyster Bay, NY. Over 90 professional firm awards attests to the quality of work. Prior to his work at Heritage, Viteretto contributed to numerous public urban landscapes with the architectural firm Cesar Pelli & Associates, New Haven, CT, and the landscape architectural firm Balmori Associates Inc., New Haven, CT. In addition to collaborating with clients, Viteretto serves as a member of the City of Norwalk’s Urban Forestry Commission, the ASLA-CT representative on the Merritt Parkway Advisory Committee with CT DOT, and is currently the ASLA-CT Chapter Trustee, furthering the awareness and values of landscape architecture in the community and nationally.
