Kathleen M. Bennett

Kathleen M. Bennett is the Chairperson of the Montclair Historic Preservation CommissionShe holds a BA in Fine Arts Education and an MA in Decorative Art History from the Cooper/Hewitt, NYU School in NYC. Since completing the Preservation Certificate course at Drew University, she has devoted her energy to the preservation and identification of the multitude of historic structures and districts within the Township of Montclair. She has written and lectured on 18th-century topics in Italy and the United States, focusing on the Rococo and the transmission of that style to Sicily. Additionally, she has researched and lectured on Montclair subjects such as the Nolen Plan, the Lackawanna Railroad Terminal, and Montclair’s 19th- century manufacturing district. Currently, she is working on an historic structure survey for Caldwell, NJ.
