Welcome to the New Jersey History and Historic Preservation Conference

Maureen Crowley

Maureen Crowley is a founder, first president, and current coordinator of the Pennsylvania Railroad Harsimus Stem Embankment Preservation Coalition and is its representative to the Jersey City Parks Coalition. The Embankment Coalition is an all-volunteer nonprofit that formed in 1999 to advocate for the preservation of the old Pennsylvania Railroad freight line into New York Harbor: the Harsimus Branch. Numerous historic resources have been identified along the Branch, which is planned as part of the off-road route though Hudson County for the Maine-to-Florida East Coast Greenway and other long-distance trails.
